Dutch design house Viktor & Rolf have announced their decision to opt out of Paris menswear fashion week this season in order to concentrate fully on their upcoming Couture show. The designer duo hasn’t missed a show since 2007, making them regular fixtures at the prestigious event.

The brand’s celebrity admirers including American actresses Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain and Victoria’s Secret model Doutzen Kroes will sure be disappointed to miss them at the show but equally excited about the fantastically complex design label’s comeback on the Paris Haute Couture calendar after a 13 year absence. Back in April, MPDClick covered the French governing body of designers (The Chambre Syndicates) vote in favour of the Amsterdam based fashion house’s return to Paris Haute Couture, to re-cap read our article here.

The designers will be unveiling their Spring 2014 menswear collection via showroom appointments from June 29 to July 7 instead of showcasing at the Paris men’s schedule from June 26 to 30. MPDClick is looking forward to a full-scale catwalk spectacular from Viktor & Rolf at Paris Haute Couture, a brand that has characterized fashion as their “antidote to reality” is sure to make a theatrical comeback.
